This beautiful antique Chinese small table is a special example of traditional Chinese low furniture, also known as a kang table. Its low, wide shape was traditionally used around the heated kang platforms in North China.
What makes this table so special is its authentic, weathered look. The old wood has a beautiful patina, with dark discoloration, wear, and characteristic signs of use that only come from years of use. The shaped sides and the small drawer front with old metal fittings complete the piece.
Use it as a side table, low coffee table, or unique decorative piece. It looks stunning in a wabi-sabi, Japandi, subdued, or rustic interior, but also serves as a characterful contrast in a modern interior.
This is not a mass-produced item nor a piece of furniture you'll find everywhere. An authentic Chinese furniture piece with a story, a soul, and an aura that simply cannot be replicated.
