This basket, I almost have no words for it; it's difficult to explain how impressively beautiful this antique, beautifully weathered oriental (rice) basket is. These magnificent baskets are hand-woven and were used in the rice fields to sift the rice from its husks. Absolutely an authentic item and a true eye-catcher. The basket is very decorative but also still very functional. Wonderful for hanging on the wall! But also lovely to slide under the coffee table, for example, with some reading material or throws inside.
