A characterful hand-carved antique coconut grater bench with beautiful patina. Traditionally, you sit or kneel on the broad section while a toothed iron grater blade is mounted at the raised end, moving a halved coconut across it to make fresh grated coconut. Graters of this type are commonly found in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and South India and are associated with the 19th century.
