This beautiful Damchiya cabinet from India is made of wood. Damchiya cabinets from India are traditionally used to collect items such as clothing and linens by young unmarried women awaiting marriage. All Damchiya cabinets are handcrafted using traditional methods, with beautiful details in the carvings and decorations. They have signs of wear and tear, as the cabinets are between 50 and 100 years old. The beautiful decoration (the bobbins on the left and right) on the top makes this cabinet extra unique. The high legs were made in India to protect the items inside from heavy rain during the summer monsoons.
